About the Photographer

My parents purchased my first film camera when I was maybe 12 years old. Very soon after, I was making weekly trips to the pharmacy where our film was developed. Six years later I was learning how to develop that film myself in a traditional black room. There isn't much that is more exciting than watching your photographs develop in front of your eyes in some sort of magic liquid. I am now using digital cameras of course, but I believe my photographic skills are much stronger due to my traditional training.

I am a portrait photographer who prefers to shoot with natural light when possible. I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with my husband and our bird, Promise and our dog, Quetzy. We love to go off exploring in our canoe, car, or by foot. We have traveled to several countries and look forward to traveling for the rest of our lives.
